Dobbin House Drinks

RUM BELLIES VENGEANCE...the drink of the Dobbin House!  An absolutely incredible concoction of the light & dark rums, exotic liqueurs, & fruit juices, the potency of which mandates a limit of two (2) per customer.  Truly, a genuine bargain.

DON'S DERRING-DO...we twisted our bartenders arm 'til he divulged his secret recipe for this flavored blend of apricot brandy, orange & pineapple juices, & Southern Comfort.

PHILADELPHIA FISH HOUSE PUNCH...Rev. Dobbin may well have discovered this comingling of rum, brandy, peach brandy, & fruit juices while hobnobbing with the likes of Washington & Jefferson at Philadelphia City Tavern.

PORRIDGE OF THE DAY
Homemade soup made here by carefully boiling over coals with no smoke or dirt therein from stirring the fire.  Served up hot & delicious in a pipkin with sippets.

BAKED KING'S ONION SOUP
Freshly made with beef and a variety of cheeses on top, baked in a 'quick' oven to succulent  tenderness, and served up hot and delicious in a tureen with sippets.

GARDEN STUFF

Layed down on a real china plate.   They eat extremely well.  And to dress our sallades...Our Homemade Herb Dreffing.  Bleu Cheese, Ranch, Fat Free French, Thousand Island Dreffing or Honey Mustard Dreffing.
 

FRESH FRUIT PLATE
Sweet Cheese dip, assorted fruits of the season, sprinkled with sprouts & nuts. Served with homemade sweet bread.

GILL OF PORRIDGE & HALF SALLADE
Actually "extraordinary."  A cup of fresh soup,
a tureen of greens, Garden Sallade, Spinache Sallade or Caesear Sallade & a hearth baked roll or with Baked King's Onion Soup.

SPINACHE SALLADE
Fresh mushrooms, black olives, croutons, bacon & onion rings in company, served with hot bacon dressing.

FRESH GARDEN SALLADE
A tureen of fresh greens tossed with cucumbers, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, Bell pepper, tomato and mushrooms with the dreffing you prefer. Served with hearth baked roll.

CAESEAR SALLADE
A tureen of romaine, croutons & onion rings in company with a caesear dressing.  Served with a hearth baked roll. Also with Grilled Marinated Chicken Breast.

Native fresh fruits of the season, assortment of cheeses, accompanied by homemade sweet bread.

SALAMAGUNDI
Fresh garden greens with the lean of smokehouse ham, turkey, cook'd eggs, swiss & provolone cheese. Served with a hearth baked rool.

SPRINGHOUSE SPREAD
Fresh Garden greens tossed with nuts and served with smoked turkey, apple wedges, honey mustard dip and homemade sweet bread.

A tender boneless breast of chicken layed to
rest over night in a delicate wine & herb marinade.  Then charcoal grilled and served up on a hearth baked roll with mayonnaise, lettuce & tomato.  Choice of Potato Sallade, Cole Sla, or Potato Chips.

CHAR-GRILLED STEAK SANDWICH
A flavorful and tender portion of beef steak cook'd according to the strength of fire you prefer, and served up open faced on hearth baked bread with sauteed onions & mushrooms.  Choice of Potato Sallade, Cole Sla, or Potato Chips.

SPIT ROASTED CHICKEN        
You'll love our tender, fresh bird skewered to a spit and turned continuously in front of a clear brisk fire until it has a delicate brown and crisp outside, and is moist and tender inside.  Basted on its own juices and sprinkled with a special blend of slightly spicy seasonings, this healthy meal is served up hot from the spit with a nice garden sallade, a baked potatoe and a hearth
baked roll.

In memory of Sir John Montague, Fourth
Earl of Sandwich, who, in the late 1700's, originated the "sandwich" in order to have one hand free at the gambling table.
